Where PostgreSQL came from

An interactive globe of PostgreSQL's history, 1986 to today. It needs JavaScript and WebGL to draw, so here is what it holds.

Features — every headline item from a release's own Overview section, traced to the place it came from. Events — PostgreSQL conferences and local user groups. Commits — commits from the full git history, attributed to a country. Translations — the language teams, sized by the catalogues they ship.

Every origin is shown with its evidence: a commit and a hackers thread, the author's own statement, an inference from a current source, or an assumption that hasn't been verified. Places are attached to features and teams, never to individual people.
