Almost everything on the map is sourced from external calendars and databases. Every conference and user group on the map was published by somebody else first, usually by the organisers, usually on a calendar they keep going for free. I did my best to remove duplicates, since sometimes the same event appears under a different name. A daily cron job keeps the map in sync with the sources.
Two of those contain only recent and upcoming entries. It could happen that early events are missing since I was unable to find a source for them. If you know of a calendar that goes back further, please let me know.
Whatever gets harvested stays in the database forever. An entry can be updated automatically, but it can never be deleted automatically. If a source drops an event, the globe still shows everything that was once published. The only way to take an entry down is to ask me.
An event with no venue gets no pin. I would sooner leave it off the globe than guess where it was, and that is why you will not find online events here. Sometimes a location is a room name, a booking link, or "to be announced", and nothing can turn any of that into a point on a map. Those events keep their entry and stay off the globe, because there is nowhere honest to draw them.
If a pin sits in the wrong place, or a group has moved, or a conference is missing, just contact me using the form on the front page.
What came of those messages is on the changelog. This page invites corrections, so it should also say where the answers turn up — every entry there is dated and linkable.
